Incorporating evidence in a paper is necessary in order to get an argument across. In my paper I used text and personal experiences as evidence in my paper. It is important to pick quotes that fit into your paper and that your analysis will relate to your thesis and support your paper. Using personal experiences as evidence can be very beneficial in a paper. For example in one of my papers I made a personal connection. “From experience when I felt like my condition wouldn’t improve I mentally blocked solutions and help from medical professionals and didn’t have the motivation to try to get better. It wasn’t until I discovered books as a comfort that my stance on healing changed. Diving into a book and investing in a character that no one understood and how they had to fight for something better to become a hero or heroine inspired me in my life to get up another day and fight against my condition. Finding support and empathy in literature when I was a patient helped me to look towards the future and recovery”. Using this in my paper strengthened my argument and allowed the reader to feel something and connect to the paper better. Also, a paper should not be biased so it is important to present a naysayer as well. When using evidence in a paper, the writer must introduce it and then explain it or it will just seem placed randomly in a paper. I think that I understand how to integrate evidence into a paper and do it successfully.
